Mighty Networks is a community platform with LMS-style courses
Not in the strict sense. Mighty Networks is a community platform that includes a course builder, not a dedicated learning management system. It covers the core of what an LMS does: structured lessons, quizzes, timed release and completion tracking. It does not cover everything a training department expects, and the gaps are documented in its own help center.
That split decides who it suits. If your members learn together and talk to each other, the course tools are likely enough. If you need audited records of who passed what, read the limits section before you commit. For the wider product, see what Mighty Networks is.
Which Mighty Networks plan includes courses
Courses start on the Launch plan. The help center says you can create a course in a Space on Launch and higher, and the plan comparison marks every course row for Launch, Scale, Growth and Mighty Pro alike. The smaller Explore plan, described in the help center at $29 a month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, lists courses among the things you unlock by upgrading.
| Detail | Launch | Scale | Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price billed annually | $79 a month | $179 a month | $354 a month |
| Price billed monthly | $95 a month | $215 a month | $425 a month |
| On-demand, cohort and live courses | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Quizzes and tests | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Sequential, timed and dripped lessons | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Embed SCORM-compliant content | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Total storage | 200 GB | 500 GB | 1 TB |

Storage matters for video courses. The help center says course videos count toward the storage limit on current plans. A single video can be up to 4 GB.
How courses, quizzes and drip schedules work
A course lives inside a Space. You create the Space from a cohort course template, which adds a discussion feed, or a content course template, which does not. A course has four building blocks: an overview, sections, lessons and quizzes. New courses and their contents start hidden, so you can build in private.
- Unlock rules. Each lesson can be open at once, sequential, timed to a number of days after the member joins, or scheduled for a date.
- Completion rules. A lesson can count as complete when visited, when the member clicks a button, or when a tracked video is watched in full.
- Quizzes. Up to 100 questions, each with up to five responses and one correct answer. You can require a pass score as a percentage. Retakes are unlimited.
- Progress view. The Space member list shows percent complete and the last lesson or quiz viewed and completed.
Automations can award a badge or show a message when a member finishes a lesson, section or quiz.
What an LMS buyer would miss in Mighty Networks
These limits come from the help center articles on courses, read on 3 October 2026.
- Certificates are not generated in the product. The documented route is a Zapier workflow that needs a paid Zapier account, or an automation pop-up that links to a file you host.
- Quiz results live in a CSV export. They do not appear in the analytics dashboard yet.
- One question type. Quizzes are multiple choice with a single correct answer. Embedded video is not supported inside quiz questions.
- Video tracking has gaps. Only native uploads and YouTube embeds can be tracked. Loom, Vimeo and Wistia cannot, and members may fast-forward.
- Hosts cannot reset a member's progress. Members can reset their own if you switch that on.
- No offline learning. Course and video content needs an internet connection, and course videos cannot be downloaded.
- Quizzes are not copied when you duplicate a Space.
The pricing page lists SCORM embedding on every plan. We could not find documentation on whether scores or completion from a SCORM package report back into Mighty Networks, so do not assume they do.
Who should use Mighty Networks for courses, and who needs a dedicated LMS
Mighty Networks suits a club, membership or coaching group that wants lessons and conversation in one place, with members holding each other to account. A cohort course with a feed beside it is the format it is built around.
Choose a dedicated course platform or LMS if you must issue certificates automatically, report on test scores inside the system, or prove compliance training to an auditor. Our Mighty Networks and Thinkific comparison and Kajabi comparison set it beside two other platforms that sell courses. If certificates are your only gap, the Zapier integration may close it, on Scale and higher.
