Mighty Networks vs Kajabi: community platform or business suite

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerMighty Networks is the community-first choice from $79 a month on annual billing. Kajabi starts at $143 a month on annual billing and suits owners who mainly sell products and need email, funnels and a website.

Mighty Networks is cheaper and member-first, Kajabi is a sales suite with a community attached

Choose Mighty Networks if the members talking to each other is the product, and Kajabi if selling courses and running marketing is the product. Kajabi Basic costs $179 a month billed monthly or $143 a month billed annually. Mighty's Launch Plan costs $79 a month on annual billing ($950 a year on its pricing page) or $95 month to month per its help center. Prices are as read on 3 October 2026.

The bigger difference is what each plan caps. Mighty's Launch Plan has unlimited members and unlimited Spaces. Kajabi Basic allows 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 website and 1 community. An established group of 4,000 people fits Launch as it is. On Kajabi it would need the Growth plan at $249 a month ($199 on annual billing), which raises the contact limit to 25,000.

Features only one of them lists

Kajabi only: the pricing page lists unlimited marketing emails, funnels, a website builder, podcasts, newsletters and a contact CRM. If your community currently depends on a separate email tool and a separate website, Kajabi can replace both. Mighty's plan table has no funnel builder or email campaign tool, which is covered in the page on Mighty Networks and email marketing.

Mighty Networks only: the Launch Plan includes native livestreaming (20 hours a month, 100 viewers per stream), chat Spaces with threads, in-person and online events, member-to-member messaging, a people explorer that suggests relevant members, streaks, points and leaderboards. Kajabi's pricing page describes its community in one line and counts it as a product type. Against Kajabi, the thing to weigh is depth of member interaction, not course delivery, since both host courses.

Which owner each platform suits

  • Mighty Networks suits clubs, associations, alumni groups and paid memberships where the list is large, most people pay little or nothing, and activity happens between members.
  • Kajabi suits a coach or teacher with a few thousand contacts who sells courses and coaching, wants email sequences and checkout pages in one login, and treats the community as a bonus.
  • If you need both strong email marketing and a deep community, the realistic setups are Mighty plus a separate email tool, or Kajabi with a thinner community. See other Mighty Networks alternatives for middle options.

Moving a community between Kajabi and Mighty Networks

Kajabi treats people as contacts, so a move is a contact export or import.

  1. Out of Kajabi: in Contacts, filter or select the people, open Bulk Actions and choose Export. Kajabi emails a CSV link to the account address, and the link expires after 3 days.
  2. Into Mighty: on Launch or higher, upload that CSV as invitations. Email is required and names are optional. Invites are sent 50 at a time, with a 100,000-record limit per file.
  3. Out of Mighty: download the member list as an Excel file from Admin, Members, Member List. It includes email, member type and whether the person opted out of commercial email.
  4. Into Kajabi: use Add contacts, Import CSV. Only the email column is required. Each import takes up to 20,000 rows, 50 data fields, 100 tags and 30MB. Check the total against your plan's contact limit first.

Courses and subscriptions do not travel in a contact file. Mighty's migration service, offered from the Growth Plan at $354 a month on annual billing, says it moves courses and maps subscriptions. Get that scoped in writing using the migration quote checklist.
