Heartbeat is cheaper under 350 members, Mighty Networks is cheaper above that
Heartbeat wins on price for a small group and Mighty Networks wins once you pass 350 members. Heartbeat here means the community platform at heartbeat.chat, which describes itself as a community platform for creators and coaches. Its Build plan is $49 a month billed monthly, or $40 a month billed annually as $490. Build holds up to 350 members, and admins count toward that number. Heartbeat keeps a 5% transaction fee on Build, on top of Stripe's processing.
Mighty's Launch Plan is $79 a month on annual billing ($950 a year on its pricing page) or $95 month to month per its help center, with unlimited members and a 2% transaction fee. Prices are as read on 3 October 2026.
A 400-member group priced on both
A group of 400 does not fit Heartbeat Build. The next plan, Grow, is $149 a month billed monthly or $124 a month billed annually as $1,490, with up to 5,000 members and a 2.5% fee. On annual billing that is $1,490 a year against $950 a year for Mighty's Launch Plan.
If those 400 members pay $10 a month, income is $4,000. Heartbeat Grow's 2.5% is $100 a month. Mighty Launch's 2% is $80 a month. So for an established community above the Build cap, Mighty costs less on both the plan and the fee. Under 350 members with little paid income, Heartbeat Build saves $460 a year on annual billing. The Mighty Networks pricing page covers the Scale and Growth tiers.

What Heartbeat offers that Mighty Networks does not, and the reverse
Heartbeat only: voice and video rooms where up to 256 members can drop in, with unlimited hours on every plan, and Match-Ups that pair members for introductions on a schedule. Zapier works on the cheapest plan, while Mighty lists it from the Scale Plan at $179 a month on annual billing, as explained in the Zapier integration guide. Heartbeat also documents a free tool for moving existing Stripe subscriptions into its payments.
Mighty Networks only: no member ceiling at any price, which is the deciding point against Heartbeat for an existing group. Launch also lists broadcast-style livestreaming (20 hours a month, 100 viewers per stream), quizzes, automatic badges and certifications, a member referral program and SOC 2 Type II compliance. On branded mobile apps the two differ in route: Heartbeat includes one on its Scale plan at $849 a month billed monthly, and Mighty sells them only through Mighty Pro at custom pricing.
Who should choose which
- Heartbeat suits a coach or small cohort program under 350 people that wants live drop-in rooms, member matching and Zapier without paying for a higher tier.
- Mighty Networks suits a club, association or membership that already has hundreds or thousands of people, or expects to, and collects enough dues for a 3-point fee difference to matter.
Moving a community between Heartbeat and Mighty Networks
- Leaving Heartbeat: its help center says the member list is exported by you at any time. Posts, comments, resources and course lessons come separately: you ask support, and receive a ZIP of CSV files through a link that expires after 48 hours.
- What that export leaves out: chat channel messages, direct messages, uploaded files, images and videos, events, and course structure and progress. Save media yourself before closing the community.
- Joining Mighty: upload the member emails as a CSV on Launch or higher. Invites send in batches of 50.
- Leaving Mighty for Heartbeat: download the Excel member list, then use Invite Members under Settings, People, Members to enter email addresses with a role and access group. Paid members on Stripe can be mapped with Heartbeat's Import Subscriptions tool.
Heartbeat says payment history stays in your own Stripe account. Write down what you would need to take with you from either platform in an exit plan before you commit.
